Use cases
These pages show how amodb fits common products: catalogs, media servers, recommendation tools, chat bots and research. Each page lists the endpoints you need, the request rate that fits, and the plan that covers it. Every plan includes all data; plans differ only in requests per minute.
-
Movie API for search, details and ratings
amodb is a paid movie API at https://api.amodb.dev/3 with the same paths and JSON as TMDB v3. Search for a title with /search/movie, then read the movie with append_to_response to get cast, trailers and ratings in one request. Responses come in 14 languages, from 20 requests per minute.
-
TV show API for series, seasons and episodes
The TV show API returns a series at GET /3/tv/{series_id} with its status, networks, season list and next_episode_to_air. Season and episode endpoints add air dates, runtimes and stills. The JSON matches TMDB v3, in 14 languages, on prepaid plans of 20, 40 or 120 requests per minute.
-
Anime API with discover filters
amodb has no separate anime endpoint. List anime with /3/discover/tv or /3/discover/movie using genre 16 and with_original_language=ja, then narrow it with the anime keyword id from /3/search/keyword. Japanese is not a served interface language, but original_name keeps the Japanese title.
-
Movie database API for your own catalog
Use amodb as the source for your own movie database. Movies, people, companies, collections, keywords and genres share numeric ids, so rows join cleanly. Seed with discover paging in release date windows, refresh rows by age, and match your own ids through find by external id. TMDB v3 JSON, 20 to 120 requests per minute.
-
Movie poster API and image CDN
Posters load from https://img.amodb.dev/t/p/{size}/{file} with no API key. The file part is poster_path from any movie, search or list reply. Size names run from w92 to original, and include_image_language picks posters by language. Only the JSON calls need your key.
-
The movie trailer API is GET /3/movie/{movie_id}/videos on api.amodb.dev. Every video carries a type, an official flag, a language and a publish date, so you can pick the official trailer in one pass. Series return the same shape. Paths and JSON match TMDB v3.
-
The actor API is the people family of TMDB v3 at api.amodb.dev/3. Fetch a person with GET /3/person/{person_id}, add combined_credits for the full filmography and images for profile photos. A popular list, name search and IMDb id lookup use the same key and JSON shape.
-
Multilingual movie metadata API
This multilingual movie metadata API serves titles, overviews, taglines, genre names and biographies in 14 languages: English, Russian, Ukrainian, Belarusian, Chinese, Portuguese, Bulgarian, Hebrew, Czech, Romanian, French, Polish, Italian and Spanish. Pass a TMDB tag such as ru-RU in the language parameter.
-
The cinema showtimes API is GET /3/movie/{movie_id}/showtimes?country=US. It returns cinemas with address and time zone, and each screening with start time, formats and booking link where known. Without country you get per-country counts only. Coverage varies by title, and an empty results array means nothing is known.
-
The episode guide API lists every episode of a series through GET /3/tv/{tv_id}/season/{season_number}. Each episode has a name, overview, air date, runtime and still image. The episode_groups list names alternate orders such as DVD or absolute. Paths and JSON match TMDB v3, so existing clients only need a new base URL.
