Terms of service
These terms are the agreement between you and amodb when you create an account, buy a plan or call the API. In short: keep your keys secret, stay within your plan rate, pay before you use the API, and follow the acceptable use policy. amodb is the seller of every plan. The law of Moldova applies.
1. Who we are
amodb is the service at amodb.dev, api.amodb.dev and img.amodb.dev. In these terms "amodb", "we" and "us" mean the operator below. "You" means the person or company that holds the account.
- Name
- amodb
- Country
- Moldova
- support@amodb.dev
2. The service
amodb provides movie and TV metadata through a TMDB v3 compatible API, an OMDb compatible API and an image host. The endpoints, limits and response formats are described in the docs. We may add endpoints and fields at any time. We list changes that could break a client in the changelog before they take effect.
3. Accounts
- Give a working email address. We use it for receipts and service notices.
- Keep your password secret. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- One account per person or company. Do not open more accounts to get more request rate.
- You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country if it is higher.
4. API keys
- A key is a secret. Do not publish it in client side code, public repositories or support threads.
- You can hold up to 10 active keys. All of them use the request rate of your plan.
- We may suspend a key that is leaked or used against these terms. A suspended key returns HTTP 401 with
status_code10.
5. Plans and payment
- Plans are prepaid for a period. Prices are in US dollars and shown on the pricing page before you pay.
- There is no free tier, no trial and no automatic renewal. Each payment adds its period to your current end date.
- When the period ends, the API returns HTTP 402 until you pay again. Your account and keys stay.
- An upgrade starts at once. Unused days of the old plan convert to days of the new plan by the price ratio.
- amodb is the seller. Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments are processed by third party payment providers. They receive your card details; we do not.
- Payments are final, except as described in the refund policy.
6. Acceptable use
You agree to the acceptable use policy. In short: use the data in your own products, do not resell raw access, do not share keys and do not attack the service.
7. Data, images and scores
- You may use API responses in your apps, websites, bots and research, and cache them to save requests.
- Images and third party scores belong to their owners. You are responsible for how you show them. See data sources.
- You may not present amodb data as an official TMDB, IMDb or OMDb service.
8. Availability
We work to keep the API available and fast, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Maintenance and incidents can cause errors or delays. Check status for the health endpoint.
9. Suspension and closing
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after a warning when the breach allows one. Prepaid time is not refunded when an account is closed for a breach. You can close your account at any time by writing to support@amodb.dev.
10. Liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, amodb is not liable for indirect or lost profit damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the bottom of this page shows the last change. For changes that reduce your rights we email account holders at least 14 days before they apply.
12. Law and disputes
The law of the Republic of Moldova applies. Courts in Moldova decide disputes, unless the law of your country gives you the right to go to your local courts.
